Owner & Founder of TALM Acupuncture Clinic
Dr. Paul New is the founder of TALM Acupuncture Clinic having received his Master’s in Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine from the Oregon College of Oriental Medicine in 2019. He received his Doctorate of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (DAOM) program from Bastyr University in Washington in 2023.
TALM Acupuncture Clinic is co-located within Steven’s Chiropractic Clinic in Cape Girardeau, MO. Prior to attending acupuncture school, Dr. New served in the Missouri Army National Guard for 9 ½ years, including overseas deployments and was medically retired from the military in 2014. Originally born and raised in Cape Girardeau, MO, Dr. New travelled around the country and the world before returning to his hometown in 2021 to start his practice. His areas of specialty include musculoskeletal pain and sports injuries, post-stroke sequelae, mental/emotional issues, and PTSD, however his extensive training allows him to treat a wide variety of conditions.
During his educational journey, he developed a specialized interest in Korean Acupuncture Theory, specifically Korean 4-needle (Sa’ am) style of acupuncture. He combines this with Traditional Chinese Medicine modalities to ensure his patients receive a personalized treatment that fits their overall wellness needs.
